Not All CarProofs Are Created Equal!

CarProof is the provider of Canada’s most detailed and reliable vehicle history report, but did you know there is more than one type of CarProof report?

CarProof offers four different reports in our regions: CarProof Verified, CarProof Verified BC, CarProof Claims and CarProof Claims BC.

The most complete and comprehensive vehicle history reports are CarProof Verified and CarProof Verified BC. If the vehicle is or has been registered in British Columbia, you want the CarProof Verified BC report as only this report contains important information from the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC). If you are confident that the vehicle is or has been registered anywhere else, choose the CarProof Verified report.

The CarProof Claims reports contain all the information in the CarProof Verified reports, except for lien information. A lien is an ownership interest that a vehicle owner grants to a party, as security or collateral for a loan. If the vehicle does have an outstanding lien on it, the new owner could be liable for it.

When used car shopping, it is important to be aware of which CarProof report you are receiving, as many used car sellers will only provide the report with the minimal amount of information. At DRIVING FORCE, we offer the most detailed report, the CarProof Verified report, which includes:

1) Report Summary

2) Report Findings in Chronological Order

3) Accident, Collision and Damage Detail

4) Lien Status

5) Canadian Registration and Branding

6) Stolen Vehicle Check

7) Import Records

8) Other Records

To request a CarProof report for one of DRIVING FORCE’s certified used vehicles, simply fill out the inquiry form located on the vehicle’s page and check off Request CarProof, or contact your local DRIVING FORCE used vehicle sales department toll-free at 1-800-936-9353. Prepare Your Vehicle for Winter!

Fall is here, and although we may not want to admit it, winter is fast approaching.

Before the frigid temperatures set in, it is important to take a few steps to ensure your vehicle is winter ready! Whether you do it yourself or take your vehicle in for service, here are 5 steps to winterizing your ride.

1) Battery

Cold weather is extremely hard on batteries so it’s a good idea to test the battery and charging system. If the battery is more than three years old, it is suggested that you have it replaced.

2) Heater, Defrosters and Wiper Blades

Have the heater, defrosters and wipers tested to make sure they work properly. Ensure you are using cold weather windshield washer fluid and that its reservoir is full. Depending on how much snow your region receives, you may want to put on winter windshield wiper blades. As a general rule, wiper blades should be replaced every six months.

3) Tires

Check the tires, including the tire pressure and tread depth. If there is uneven wear, wheel alignment is needed. Whether you use winter tires or not remains to be a personal choice unless you live in Quebec, however winter tires are recommended regardless of how much snow and ice your region may receive as they are more effective than all-season tires in cold weather.

4) Brakes

Have the entire brake system looked at, including brake linings, rotors and drums. Properly functioning brakes are vital to vehicle safety and are the difference between stopping safely or causing a fender bender on icy or snow-covered roads.

5) Winter Survival Kit

It’s always good to have a winter survival kit in your vehicle in case you find yourself stranded on the side of the road. The kit should include a blanket, flares, flashlight, extra clothes, bottled water, energy/dry food snacks, candles/matches, first aid kit, jumper cables, small shovel, duct tape and kitty litter.
